POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The National Center for Health Marketing (NCHM) in the Coordinating Center for Health Information and Services (CoCHIS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recruiting a Deputy Director. This science and leadership supervisory position will be advertised under 3 different disciplines which include Medical Officer (GS-602-15), Health Scientist (GS-601-15), and Social/Behavioral Scientist (GS-101-15). The position is open to people currently inside or outside the Federal Government. External applications close November 3, 2006 and internal applications close October 26, 2006. It requires a high degree of initiative, originality and judgment. The Center is organized into a variety of sub-organizations (Divisions), with overall direction flowing from this position. The Deputy represents the Center with a variety of organizations, bureaus, and other agencies. He/She will establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with Center’s, State and local agencies and officials. He/she will meet with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organizational policies and procedures and resolves significant problems that arise. The work of the Center has impact not only throughout the CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services, but its impact reaches throughout the country and the world.
